Rugged Coasts, Mountains and Forests Newfoundland is an island of rugged coasts, boreal forests, many rivers and wildlife including moose, salmon and off-shore whales. Labrador's coast is similar, while the forested and boggy interior is home to caribou, wolves and salmon - Labrador stretches north through tundra. The waters off the coast are popular for whale and glacier viewing, and famous for the now-endangered fishery known as the Grand Banks. |
